Golf carts occupy an interesting middle ground in the insurance world. On a private golf course, the course's liability coverage applies. On your own property, your homeowner's policy may provide some limited coverage. But the moment a golf cart is driven on a public road, even a low-speed residential street, you're in territory that neither homeowner's nor standard auto policies address.
