Hagerty
Insurance for people who love their vehicles.
Overview
Hagerty wasn't founded by insurers, it was founded by enthusiasts. Frank and Louise Hagerty were boat collectors who couldn't find an insurance company that understood what their vessels were actually worth. So they started their own. What began as specialty marine coverage became the world's leading insurer of collector and classic vehicles, trusted by over 2 million car lovers worldwide.
History

Frank and Louise Hagerty founded the company after being unable to find adequate insurance for their wooden boats. They created coverage specifically for antique and collectible watercraft.

Expanded into classic and collector car insurance, recognizing that the same gap that existed in the boat market existed in the vintage auto world.
2000s
Grew rapidly as the collector car hobby expanded, becoming the largest provider of agreed-value insurance for classic and vintage vehicles in North America.
2016
Launched Hagerty Drivers Club, a membership program providing roadside assistance, driving events, and community for car enthusiasts.
2021
Went public via SPAC merger, becoming a publicly traded company with over 2 million members and policies on vehicles in 66 countries.
